Artist Spotlight: Rebecca Carey

Yoga became a large part of Rebecca's life shortly after her move to Nashville, TN. She discovered that practicing yoga could leave her feeling physically and mentally refreshed and rejuvenated. Rebecca realized the benefits of this practice extend much deeper than physical and mental, and discovered the profound spiritual blessings inherent to yoga. She fell completely in love and continued on a path to explore and expand her practice and knowledge of this wonderful way of life. After years of practice and filled with a strong desire to share the benefits of yoga with others, she completed her eclectic 230 Hr. Teacher Training at the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina in 2010 and is currently completing her 500 Hr. Training. In her classes, she encourages students to dive deeper into their unique practices by bringing their awareness to the breath, listening within to explore more deeply the connection to higher wisdom and truth held within us all.

Art has been a life-long love of Rebecca’s.  She is predominantly self-taught, not having formal lessons, but credits learning a lot from studying the works of great artists in galleries and in books. She loves to paint nature, particularly scenes with water. She finds inspiration in the works of Monet especially and other Impressionist artists. Rebecca is very grateful and honored to be included in the Yoga Society of Nashville’s newsletter this month!
